  • Moving the old Sellwood Bridge to decrease the project’s environmental footprint
  • An innovative approach for compact cofferdams
  • Enhanced stormwater management
  • Enhanced fish/wildlife passage
  • Significant re-forestation and planting program
  • Oregon’s first Greenroads registered project

Mike Baker, PE is a Vice President with David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA) with 24 years’ experience managing the inter-disciplinary coordination among public involvement, planning, environmental, design, and construction personnel needed to deliver multi-modal transportation projects.  In addition to the Sellwood project, Mike has contributed his leadership and technical expertise in the service of planning and delivering some of Oregon’s largest and most complex transportation projects, such as

  • Willamette River Bridges Capital Improvement Program
  • Sunrise Corridor
  • Columbia River Crossing
  • OR Highway 217 Corridor
  • Interstate 5- Delta Park Widening

Additionally, Mike serves as the firm’s Oregon Region Transportation Business Development Leader and Director of the firm’s Future Leader program focused on building the leadership capacity of early career professionals.  Before joining DEA, Mike completed four-years of active duty military service as an officer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
